RT-7 - REDUNDANT CONTROL SYSTEM for GE GAS TURBINES
DIRECT REPLACEMENT FOR GE SPEEDTRONIC® MARK IV, MARK V
The RT-7 is a PLC-based redundant turbine control system designed to directly replace the Mark IV or Mark V TMR control panel on GE heavy duty gas turbines in generator or mechanical drive applications.
The RT-7 has superior fault tolerance capability, when compared to the Mark IV or Mark V systems. The RT-7 control system will always tolerate the failure of any redundant critical I/O device on the turbine AND any control system module.
The RT-7 takes advantage of the latest developments in PLC multi-tasking technology so that redundant CPU’s and I/O buses are connected to independent triplicated I/O subsystems. The high-speed data sharing allows all sensor signals to be used directly in the control and protection scheme of the gas turbine.
This is an inherent design improvement over the Mark IV, V systems which segment critical I/O to each dedicated <R,S,T> controller.

BENEFITS:
Available for Frame 5,6,7 and 9 gas turbines.
Direct physical replacement of TMR GE Mark IV and Mark V SpeedTronic panels. All existing field-wiring can be re-used.
Removal-and-Insertion-of Modules Under Power (RIUP) enables faster, more efficient maintenance.
Open-Architecture system – easy connection to other control and information systems.
Built around off-the-shelf PLC equipment – affordable spare parts.
Remote network or dial-up access provide troubleshooting and diagnostics from remote customer locations or ICS Service Center.
FEATURES:
Human Machine Interface computers use industry-standard software. (Cimplicity, Wonderware, Intellution)
Pre-emptive, multi-tasking operating system gives fast throughput – eliminates analog position loops for electro-hydraulic actuators.
Software fully compliant with IEC-1131 standards.
Industrial hardened modules designed to withstand vibration, temperature, and electrical noise associated with turbine environments.
I/O modules have module-level fault detection (self-diagnosing).
Self Documenting control and sequencing software.
