Speed Measuring
As part of a control system upgrade, ICS has pre-engineered kits for the addition of magnetic pickup type speed measurement to a variety of older steam turbines.

Shaft voltage monitoring protects bearings from electrical damage due to deterioration of grounding brushes.

First Stage Overpressure Protection

Automatic Motor Control
To automate turbine operation ICS can automate the manual turning gear and MCC control stations found on older turbines.

Efficiency / Load Management
Process plants including paper mills, oil refineries, chemical plants, and industrial plants often operate extraction steam turbines to generate process steam. The plant economics are often dependent on operating the turbines at an efficient load and extraction point. To help the operator achieve this, the STC2000 control system can be equipped with a turbine efficiency module to operate extraction turbines at their most optimum points. The module displays efficiencies, cost of power generated, cost of power purchased and steam flows with color coded indications of system parameters affecting overall plant efficiency. The module is programmable for single and multiple turbines in a plant, and also for seasonal/multi-mode operation, where operating parameters and costs are variable.
